My Aspire to Draw

Since I was old enough to sit upright in a highchair, my mom put crayons in my hand, and paper on the trey. It kept me occupied and out of trouble. As time when on, about 3 hours a day in my highchair coloring, drawing, and painting I grew a very strong interest in it. When I was about 2 years old I would refuse to play with my barbies, princesses, and all the little girly things we all once did because I would rather be doodling. Unlike most kids, I was writing my name on paper and coloring inside the lines at the age of 3. I feel like my mom is a big reason why I love to draw because without her encouragement and time teaching me how to hold a pencil, write letters, draw shapes, and color inside the lines, I wouldn't have the skills that I have today. Throughout the years I've always had the interest but I would only sketch something here and there. One thing I always caught myself doing wasn't day dreaming, but tracing things with either my fingers or just my eyes. The past 2 years I've really gotten into my art work, and I think that is for a couple of reasons. Like I said in my 'About Me' if you read it, was that art to me is a huge stress reliever. Going up to my room with a hot cup of tea in the winter or a cold fruity drink in the summer, with my favorite Pandora station blasting on my stereo with a pencil in my hand and a sketch book on my desk puts me in my own world. Having the ability to create anything you want and being able to express your emotions and feelings whether they are happy or sad without having to explain yourself, and also doing something you love is a wonderful thing. Being that my family has been sort of hectic and with friends coming and going, I've found myself always resorting to drawing. My artwork is one thing about me that I'm not conscious about. People's opinions get the best of me whether it's how my hair looks, my make up, how I dress or how much I weigh, but if you don't like my art work that doesn't bother me because that's who I am and my artwork can tell you more about me then my appearance. Drawing isn't just some hobby of mine, it's my way of life.
